Do you remember a time when the worst thing you had to worry about was someone writing something mean about you on a bathroom wall?
Things are so different now. With the advent of the internet came message boards and blogs. While some of these boards are a great resource, I often find myself amazed at the harshness of comments made on the internet. So now instead of having to worry about the other kids at school reading something negative about you on a wall, you’ve had to wonder if thousands of people across the globe have seen the unkind comments written about you.
We recently discovered a rather unfavorable review written about us on a bridal board regarding a situation that weren’t familiar with. When we contacted the board to dispute the post, we were told that only paid advertisers can reply to things written about them on their boards. I suddenly knew what the girls in school felt like to have their number written on a bathroom wall. Here was something written about our company, and we had no idea where it came from, or what motivated the author to write it. And the only way defend our reputation is to pay the site allowing the post an “advertising fee” to dispute it.
Unfortunately some of these bridal sites operate under unscrupulous terms, creating a situation where bridal vendors are forced to “pay to play”. As a result of this we have become extremely selective of the bridal boards that we work with. There are some great bridal message boards, and these can prove to be an invaluable resource for planning your wedding. However, not all boards operate ethically. And if the site is charging vendors to defend the comments written about them, and not screening the posts for validity, brides are exposed to a wealth of misinformation.
Things go wrong, especially with travel! We’ve come to accept the fact that if your luggage is lost, your flight is delayed, or the service at the hotel falls short of your expectations, you may very well blame us.
At Bliss Honeymoons we hope that every bit of your experience with us is positive. Please remember that we are here to assist you before, during and after your trip, and our primary responsibility is to advocate on your behalf should you encounter an issue. We welcome open communication and feedback from our clients, good and bad, and strive to have a completely transparent relationship with everyone we work with. Should you encounter any issues at all during your experience with us, we hope that we will be your first point of contact.
Safe and happy travels to all!
