Places I’ve traveled to:
Want to know where I've been in the last few years?
Here we go: Starting with the continent of S. America. I cruised the Amazon River from Quito for 5 days visiting the local villagers and photographing the wildlife, then onward to Cusco, Peru to visit Machu Picchu. A truly spiritual place. Although we did not have time to climb Wayna Picchu, we did make it to the top of the Sun Gate for the amazing top down pictures. Later I visited Argentina (Buenos Aires, Gaucho Ranch, Tango Shows, and Iguassu Falls). Just recently we passed through Ecuador for a couple of days visiting the Equator Monument, and then cruised on the Galapagos Explorer II sailing through the Galapagos Islands on an amazing photography expedition.
The continent of Africa is another place of amazing culture, culinary, wine and photography. 3 times to South Africa (Capetown, Knysna, Stellenbosh, Hermanes, Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Sabi Sands) on motorcycle tours, 5 times to Kenya (Nairobi, Safari's in Samburu, Masai Mara, Ambosili, and more), 3 times to Tanzania (Safari’s in NGorogoro Crater, Arusha, Moshi and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro). Egypt (Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Abu Simbel).
The United Kingdom also has many wonderful historical places that will pique your interest. There is England (London, York, Stratford upon Avon, and much more), Wales (Bath & Stonehenge), Ireland (Ring of Kerry, Limerick, Waterford), Scotland (Edinburg).
Europe is a vast land with a wide spectrum of history, culture, castles, and culinary dishes. Germany (Lived for 3 years and 4 motorcycle tours throughout the country), France (Paris, Mt. Blanc, Chamonix, Nice and Cannes), Italy (Rome, Naples, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Dolomites), Belgium, Luxemborg, Netherlands (Amsterdam), Monaco (Monte Carlo). Lichtenstein, Austria, and Switzerland. Here we also did a 10 day cruise of the Mediterranean (Greece, Sicily, Turkey, etc)
In North Europe, the Baltic Sea, I cruised for 15 days visiting the countries in the area (Denmark, Russia (St. Petersburg), Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany (Berlin)).
I took a quick trip to the South Pacific to visit Tahiti (Papeete) and her islands, Bora Bora, Huahini, and Moorea.
Nov 2008 I toured the southern part of Thailand, consisting of Bangkok, and the surrounding areas visiting the elephant camps, gardens, and water market. Then flew over to Cambodia, Siem Reap (Angkor) for a quick 3 day trip to visit Angkor Wat and many other temples including the one used in the Laura Croft Tomb Raider movie, lastly their city that lives on the water.
Central America, Mexico we went to Cancun, Riviera Maya area to visit many of the refurbished All Inclusive Resorts since the hurricane devastated many of them. Wow - many are really luxurious and have great price points.
Not to leave out North America, I travel as much domestically as well. Most recently I just toured Toronto, and the Niagara Falls area, Park City, Utah, Hawaii (Hilo), Maui, Oahu (Waikiki), all along the east coast, San Francisco and the wine country, Los Angeles, Atlanta.
Favorite Honeymoon Destination:
Kenya, Africa or Bora Bora, Tahiti
Favorite destination wedding destination:
Anywhere in the tropics on a beach at sunset
Most interesting or unique trip I’ve worked on:
I had a couple that wanted a honeymoon to last a lifetime. First they spent 2 nights in Los Angeles, 3 nights in Fiji at the Taunovo Bay Resort & Spa. From there they flew to New Zealand (Rotorua, Queensland, Milford Sound, Mt. Cook, Christchurch, Kaikoura) then onward to Australia (Sydney, Cairns) then back home again. This honeymoon couple enjoyed every minute of their adventurous trip.
Best travel tip:
Be flexible. Traveling and experiencing “what may come” is a part of the adventure. Nothing is perfect and it will never be perfect. Have the presence of mind to relax, don’t ever get upset and take things in stride. With this in mind you will have the most fun of anyone on the trip.
If I had $10,000 to travel anywhere:
There are so many places I haven’t been yet and traveling on a budget, $10,000 could take me to many places I have yet to visit. On my list for now is: Antarctica, Napal, Katmandu, base camp Mt. Everest, China, Bali, Easter Island and more. Heck, I’m only half way through “1001 Things to See Before You Die”. And that’s one book I have to finish.
Important Note:
Don’t live your life through someone else’s experiences, discussions or photographs, get out there and see it for yourself. There are so many things the camera or your imagination does not see, that can be experienced through your own eyes and emotions.
