We arrived at Seaside Suites and were quickly greeted by Laura, the resort’s sales manager, along with a glass of champagne and a chilled towel.
Seaside Suites is a fantastic little resort. Our tour began with a quick history of the resort, a view of some of the restaurants and grounds, and then we headed for the pool. One of the first things we noticed was the bar by the pool. It was your average beach bar, but with swings hanging down from the rafters of the palapa! Cool! Nestled next to the bar was a group of palm trees with hammocks tied to them, perfect for finishing your cocktail and enjoying an afternoon siesta.
As we were headed out of the pool area we were stopped by one of the guests who recognized us a group of travel agents. George is a die-hard Seaside Suite fan who had stayed at the hotel frequently over the years. George decided to tag along with us for a while to give us his “personal guest insights” on the property, which included pointing out some of his favorite rooms.
Next Laura took us to see some of the rooms at the resort, each with their own Jacuzzis and hammocks. The swim-up suites at this resort are fantastic.
As we headed out for another section of the resort we were again greeted by a beach butler who handed us all bottled water and a chilled towel to keep us comfortable for the rest of the tour.
Seaside Suites has great food so we thrilled that Laura invited us to lunch with her at the resort. Laura is from Italy, but is also fluent in Spanish and English, and has really bonded with the hotel and its staff in the short time that she has been there. Lunch was fantastic, and the staff had no issue with my high-maintenance vegetarian, nut allergic food requests. In fact, at all El Dorado resorts we can fax in special menu request for people with special dietary needs like myself, and the resort will prepare a list dining recommendations for each of the restaurants for the guests, so they don’t have to try to figure out what they can eat on their own.
The resort was getting ready for a beachside wedding while we were there, and the wedding coordinators were hard at work raking the sand and putting down the red carpet. Seaside Suites has a couple of wedding locations to choose from on the property, and they are working on expanding the dock to add more options.
Typically when we write hotel reviews we try to include the pros and cons, but I find myself at a loss to determine what the “con” is for this resort. The resort is truly beautiful, and the staff seems to seamlessly anticipate our needs and arrive without ever having to be asked to. So, perhaps the only downside of the resort would be that eventually you will have to check out, and go back home again.
